Walnut & Elk Water Flow

My fishing partner and I are planning a trip to Walnut/Elk for this
coming spring. We are thinking, weather and water conditions permitting,
mid-March. Is this prime time or would you suggest a later date? Also,
what would you consider to be acceptable water flows for these two
streams and where can we find reliable water flow data for them. We have
fished for steelhead in New York the past two seasons but would like to
fish the Pa. tribs this spring. We look foreword to hearing from you

March can be fantastic for steelies.  As far as a reliable water flow data source, call a baitshop or flyshop.

March can be great for steelie fishing Erie. As far as flow goes there is a flow gauge posted somewhere that will give you up to date info. I'm sure someone will post the link b4 the thread is up. Welcome to the board.

The Walnut guage showed a 3+ ft. spike followed by a 4+ ft drop in less than 12 hours. I don't think you'll get any acurate/usable info from it for a while. Not with 100's of tons of ice piled up in that section.
