Outdoor Channel/ Elk Crick

Elk Creek Steelie fishin was just on the outdoor channel. Show is called familiar waters and is set to repeat at 830 AM tomorrow. I only caught the end of it but set the DVR to record it in the AM. Just a heads up that there will be 1,000 more people fallin through the ice in the next few weeks.

Pawloski(sp?) didn't seem like he was enjoying the conditions too much.  Whining about cold hands and what not.  but that sure did make me want to make a trip up!

I saw the show - Like Bert said Pawloski was complaing about cold hands -overall though it was not too bad but I think it will bring more anglers up to Elk.

It is never good for any stream to get to much publicity. I watched part of it, and at least I did not here any access to the stream. Just wish he could have looked a little more miserable.

How about how he handled the fly rod. Putting his other hand half way up the rod, taking the rod over his head (high sticking) I was hoping he would snap it in half.....

I saw it too. Not too concerned about it getting more crowded. Go from Jan-April when its butt cold, then you don't have to worry about it being crowded...b/c people like him won't be there "I'm not putting my hands in the cold water...I hope I have enough fleece on" Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaambulance

That's exactly what I thought also about the leased section.  Also, I consider the "Midwest" to be Indiana, Iowa, Illinois.....etc,  not PA.

Like others have said, after all these years living in Erie County, I never knew I was in the midwest.  And if i'm not mistaken, the guide said Elk Creek started in central Pennsylvania.   I guess the actually locations are just to boring for television.

The best part about fishing with me is you never have that annoying fish smell on your hands afterwards.

I'm actually glad they were not spot specific, with a few shaky location descriptions! I've seen quite a few episodes of "Familar Waters" with Mike Pawloski (sp). He's a former Tampa Bay Buccaneer and now he's getting paid to fish. I'm jealous, lol!

The mid-west starts next door in Ohio.
