Green Lick Lake

I read an article in PA game and fish about this place, anyone know much about it. I think its south of Pittsburgh a little? The article didn't say much but mention channel cats in april as a good bet. What kind of lake is this?

I was only there a couple of times but the south and west sides are pretty tough to wade because of the drop off. I went past it yesterday and there was no one ice fishing, but as i came to a stop sign about 1/2 mile from the lake a guy went past with ice fishing gear on the back of his truck.

Have heard reports of a few nice crappies in the spring if you can time it right and find them.

Greenlick is just outside of Mount Pleasant.  You can fish the entire lake from shore, most of the lake is pretty shallow.  they do stock Greenlick every year with channels so i imagine that there should be some decent sized ones in there.

Don't want to be argumentive, but I fish there a lot,  from shore & from a boat & can say that most of the side of the lake opposite the road has very limited access & drops off quickly to over 25-30 fow. Also from the boat dock to the breast will go from 14-30fow. I think that is why I seldom see ice fishing there, most guys that I know don't feel to sure of the ice. Also the state doesn't stock trout there.  sam

I was on greenlick 1 -25, 1-26 .5-8 inches of ice . i was skating with my son and talked to several guys who were fishing. good ice , little action.alot of shoreline access . but the better spots are only reached by boat.
