Slammin' Salmon

Despite the -22 & -13 I went out to pound some ice. Schroon had a solid 12" . Fishing was slow but results were good. There was not another fisherman near for miles.

A Fat 7lb salmon & decent 23" laker.

Nice RJ !  mean fightin laker and  that salmon I bet. Finally was able to get to a local hole and we did what we expected. Both sat and today got there late around 11am and just popped holes using my 6" lazer hand auger easy ice 7 -8 inches. We caught a few salad bowls.  here is the avg specimen , my boot is size` 11 about 12" guess most were smaller but we caught a 1/2 dozen or so bigger my boot size both sat and sunday..

That's quite a salmon, Tuna...  Must have been crazy once it felt the hook...  Rope burn, or what?
