As of yesterday hereford manor lower was fishable but still very shaky.  There was guys on it in front of the main lot, said there was 4 inches. What there was, was 2 inches of good clear ice on the bottom, then an inch of slush, then another inch of gray ice. I did find one spot yesterday, where holes were drilled the day before, that had a solid 4 to 4 1/2" of ice.  The snow is messing everything up.  I didn't check today however, you'd think -8 degrees below zero would penetrate a few inches of snow, but I didn't check. It was even too cold out for me today.

Lower manor was fishable today with almost 6 inches, but be careful out there as Stillhead said. As far as ADSA, I'd say its about the same as the manor, but don't know for sure. Checked it earlier in the week and there was about 3 inches of soft cloudy ice.

My friend and I were on it last night checking around the lake at some of our favorites and I'd say the ice was 3-3 1/2 inches most of the far side of the lake and a little thicker around the boat launch.  That lake must have a bunch of warm spots in it because the ice was real inconsistant.  I told him we'd wait for next week to fish it and just stick to Moraine this weekend.  I'd like to try the upper lake maybe next week, but that walk sucks since they close the gate.  Especially when you get all the way up there and the ice still isn't thick enough.

Startinout I was out on Hereford today with 2 friends of mine and we are not small guys the ice is fine to fish on it, there were about 18 people fishing the lower lake today all over it, were we fished it was 5 inches of good ice, back on the left near the stump and along the road to the right of the parking lot, one guy did fish the upper lake but did not get a chance to talk to him.  John

Not to rain on anyones parade but..

I got to go to the stocking and, honestly, a HUGE disappointment. The majority of my fall pellethead fishing is at Hereford, and in the last year I can't complain. Going to the stocking I just wanted to see the norm on size & length..

Very few fish compared to past stockings..
Average size, 10-11 inches. Honest to god.
Wonder if they're cutting back on # of fish because of the draining?
Prove me wrong.. but the biggest I saw caught was maybe.. 13 inches..

Note to all: The only stocking they did was on the lower.

The fall, and winter stockings, are Tellico fish, which DO average a bit smaller than Penna. raised fish.

I saw several, taken from another local lake ( Pa. Browns, and Brookies ) last week. ALL 13-16 inches.

Doug I didn't know you Iced fished, you are more than welcome to come.

I would invite MO, and NON Fishinfool, but that would be a waste of time and typing, they are not allowed.

We've been going out after dark, just because that's what time allows for right now.  Does anyone catch much after dark?  I'm assuming you could catch crappies, but what about trout and bass?  Creel, now I'm really tempted to walk up top.  I think, maybe, I'll try it this week with a rope tied to me.  That first step on the upper lake is a doozie most of the way around it.

Ambridge Sportsman was still bad saturday. When you walked on it water appeared and you could hear it cracking along the edge.
