Silly Steelhead...
Last week I was fishing on Elk and something strange happened. My girlfriend had landed a quite average steelhead. Then, not even 5 minutes after releasing it, she caught the same one again. I have seen this happen to myself and other people many times. I'm just curious, what would drive a steelhead to hit the same bait twice in a row without time to recover? P.S. Eastern Erie county got 10" of snow today :) ~Nate

lol, maybe it was really good bait. I mean, If i was eating some ribs, but just got slapped in the face with each bite. I'd have a bbq covered sore, red face.

The only thing better than 1 day of fishing is 2 days of fishing.

I have found many times a fish with a sore lip will bit more aggressively than a fish that has not been stuck by a hook. Ever notice how many fish you catch with "jewelery"? (not talking about flies in it's back) Several times I've seen a fish shaking its head or biting repeatively, thrown a fly closer to it (rather then others close by) and BOOM . Fish on.
Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach him how to fish and he will sit in a boat and drink beer all day.

Aw, cmon, Nate. You must have done this at least once before you abandoned the fly rod. One time on 7 mile about 5 years ago, I caught the same 6 pound steelie on the same pink ss five times. I kept releasing it further and further downstream, but it just kept coming back beside the huge hen I was trying to catch. I wasn't even drifting close to it. It would move in front of the hen and take the fly. Never did get the hen on. Just gave up. Another time, in the spring, same season, they were hitting streamers, and a guy broke one off with his hand tied white/yellow clouser, and it moved upstream. 10 minutes later I caught the same fish, using the same fly, that he had given me, and retrieved his fly. If they don't want to hit, you can't stop em. If they want to hit you can't stop em. Hope school is going well! Good to see you posting something!

On upper Walnut yesterday, I hooked the same fish 4 times before i landed it. These fish are getting more retarded every fall. Old Friends, I've been going to school and I'm not on the computer much. I still live in North East and I still fish a TON. I missed you guys and thought i'd come back for a few posts. If any of my old fishing buddies wanna hook up and fish somewhere, hit me up with a private message, I can fish almost any day of the week. ~Nate
