Twin Lakes

Where are the Twin Lakes?   Someone asked me if I ever fished them.   Not to sure that I ever heard of them?  What species are in them?

Thanks for the site.   Public boats are prohibited??  Never heard of that in a park.  Is that the way I read it?

no private boats on Northmoreland or Mamoth either. private boats with electric motors are allowed at Acme Dam & Bridgeport Dam. These are Westm'd Co. lakes also.    sam

Shore fishing not to bad but there is a fair about of weed beds to contend with on both lakes.  At the dam it is good and not as weedy.  There is bass, crappie, trout, catfish, and carp.  Good for close to home lake if you live near by but would not be my first choice if I was comming from somewhere out of the  local area to fish.

Any day with a rod in the water is better than a day at work

About 5 years ago.  A guy caught an unofficial 14 lb bass out of the lower lake.  I saw the pic and it looked all of those 14lbs.  If I remember correctly was released to fight another day.  I myself have seen some biguns swimming by the dam area years ago.  Never caught one bigger than 4 lbs myself, but plenty of smaller bass to be had.  Back in the day the lake had some monster walleye in it up to 10 lbs.  Since been all fished out.  They stopped stocking them when the trout started being put in.

i live like 5 minutes from twin lakes so i've fished there countless times over the years. the fishing has really went downhill in the past several years. i dont think i'll fish out there again until the lakes get stocked with trout in the fall. if your in the area then you might want to check twin lakes out but there are plenty of places around that offer much better fishing.

they really need to make the upper lake catch and release only, at the current rate there wont be any fish in either lake in a few years.

I hate twin lakes.  Hate it.  Its more exciting to skip stones across the water than it is to think that a fish will bite your line.  Have very nice fish been taken there?  Sure, I've seen the biggest cat I've ever seen come out of that lake, but it doesnt change my opinion.

bass season starts 12:01 saturday morning, they must be 15" in both lakes if your keeping them. This time of year I use a texas rigged worm and usually catch a few in the evenings. Good luck if you go!
