Smallmouth/Yough River

Just to let everyone know that the Yough river is alive and is very well. Had a great day (Sunday 06/03/07) on the river. Fish were in the slack water and very aggressive! Time to get out boys and do your thing!

May your fly rod always be bent!

Sounds like you had better luck than I did the last trip I made to the Yough, I had a rough go of it.  Only landed 3, non bigger than 8 inches.  That was Memorial Day though, so maybe I was just a little early.

its most deffinatly heating up. waded it on sunday at whitsett coming home for about a half hour and got 3 that were in the 15 inch range. i waded down from cedar creek park about 3 weeks ago and did pretty good as well as a short trip to buena vista last week.

dude is right though, every fish ive caught has been right off the main flow in the slack water or a nice eddie. normally i target current seams but they were deffinatly sittin in the slow(er) stuff. 4 inch weightless senkos and gitzits
