take the Meadville exit (east) 3 stop lights then over the big bridge(french creek). Stay on right side at bottom of bridge there will be a kwik fill gas station turn right go straight up hill to the T . take a right for about 1/4 mile then take first left go up hill to the first 4 way intersection take a right follow road for about 1/2 to 3/4 mile and you will see a sign on the left that says tmmarack lake or just stay straight till you see the next sign that says tammarack lake on your left. Second road sign is the best for access.

The Meadville exit is East. If he heads West he will be going toward Conneaut Lake and the third light west will take him to Wal Mart. But Egg is right you want the Meadville exit but you will be heading East when you get off 79.

Never bothered us with the gas motor on as long as you don't fire it up..

i'll be in conny lake next week for the 4th.  as i love to fish conny, it will be too nuts there with everyone on the skis and boaters.  i've heard great things about tamarak, and the musky is the only remaining game fish on my list to catch.  are there friendly fishermen willing to give an honest assesment.  i know that there are two deeper ends of the lake with the middle being shallower.  from what i read above the second launch spot seems to be easier.  where in the lake are the muskies hanging out?

    thanks

My friend got this one on Saturday morning while we were out there.  It was 42" long and I'm not sure about the weight as we didn't have a scale on hand.  We were fishing the shallow section of the lake.

How bad are the weeds?? We might go down and do a little slop fishing for bass. Only hook up on about 1 in 5 but sure is fun..

It was my first time there and we didn't cover a whole lot of the lake but the weeds weren't too bad.  Some spots were worse than others but still okay to run some shallow stick baits without getting hung up too often.

Fished Tamarac for 5 hours on friday..That lake sure has changed. This was my first trip down since they did the work on the dam. Sure didn't do the bass fishing any good..
We fished the lilly pads with rubber frogs and fished the stumps with top waters and spinnerbaits. We caught 1 five inch bass.
Saw 3 boats out casting for Musky, the one old timer said he had caught a short ski in the morning.

Hey, you did better than I did. Was also there on Friday for 3 hours. Not one stupid bite. Put the boat back on the trailer and drove to Pymy and caught em' pretty good. Was also at Tamarack on July 4th. Caught 5 smaller ones and one 4 1/2 lber. Then went 2 1/2 hours without a bite. I actually wish the weeds were a little thicker.  Met IUP30 on the water. Nice kid. Pleasure meeting you.

Just when I think I'm getting old someone calls me a "Kid!"  JK Chug - nice meeting you too.  PM me about the BASS clubs, I want to get some more info and possibly join one just for some fun and friendly competition.  I was after muskie on the 4th and had two hits but no hook-ups -- I still can't figure out how hard of a hit I had on a bucktail and not one treble found a jaw .  STILL looking for my first legal muskie...

IUP30, anyone younger than me is a "kid". Take it as a compliment. I sent you a PM about local bass clubs. Hope to see on the water again sometime. Chugger
