Agree.  Buddy told me in a magazine (deer and deer hunting) that in our region of the country, the rut will be a little later.  The week coming, nov3-nov9 will not have as much activity as this time last year (again this is predicted in the mag.)  Personally, I would look for sign (rubs/scrapes) that would lead a buck to his bedding area.  Or hunt down wind of where the does are bedding.  Heard what sounded like a buck chasing a doe this morning at 7.  Too dark to even see the deer but you could hear them runnin around.

Saw 5 bucks moving on the cold snowy day. Spent 12 hours in a tree today watching a great area for crusing bucks and saw one three point. 18 degrees warmer today.

Saw big 6pt, a small scrub that i couldnt get a count on, and a small 8.  The 6 and small scrub were cruising the other buck didnt seem interested in the rut yet judging by body language and actions.

Today, I don't know if the bucks were chasing, or just trying to get a peep of dat****

But both I saw today, (4 and a 6), both looked like they were in the market for some trim.
