Carpet fly or a multi colored Globug using small strands of 4 to 8 different colors. The original carpet fly used antron rug yarn. I once tied up some combining orange, pink, brown, white, blue, red, and chartreuse lazer yarn. It worked well and the lazer yarn seemed to give the egg a subtle pulsation.
My most productive Blood Dot... a ripped 1/6th to 1/8th diameter piece of Egg (very pale orange) Globug Yarn tied sucker spawn style with the Micro apricot bug yarn for the center dot. I use 14-18 caddis hooks.
Sucker spawn but tie a piece of estaz off the bend first. Then do your yarn loops. Then bring the estaz up and over to the front and split the yarn. Tie off the the head and clip the remaining estaz. You can also incorporate estaz in your globugs to add flash.
I guess you're only limited by your imagination.
