North Park Lake Sediment Removal

Just wondering if anyone has heard anything about the project to remove the sediment from North Park. I walked around the lake Sunday and was reminded once again what a small treasure this lake really is.  The last I heard they had some money to remove sediment, but hadn't decided how it was to be done. Will the whole lake be drawn down?  I heard they got money to improve the launch ramp. I can't imagine how much improving a spot to lanuch cartoppers needs.

There was an article in the Post Gazette in June/July about starting next year. I can't get the page to come up on their site for some reason, but if you search "dredge" it will be the fourth article to come up.

Here is teh US ACOE site for it as well.

The Corps of Engineers will work in partnership with the County of Allegheny during all phases of the project. Plans and specifications will be developed over the next year and the construction contract to begin dredging is expected to be awarded in the late spring of 2009.
