hook size for kings

hook size for kings

when fishing eggsacs what size hook do you use. i use size 18 diachis for steelhaed. thats probably to small for kings.

    Go up to a 10-12 and you should be fine. I use 12's w/ sacs and 10's w/skein and have good results.

    1/0 gamma egg hook extra sharp not cheap hooks a good hookset and the fish can break the hook

    1/0 you say?    O was told size 2 was tha biggest you could use because of the gap.. Is that true?   if not   what are  normal successful sizes..  thanks

    Hook gap: no more than a half inch gap between point and shank.... be careful....
