Anywhere near Rockland

I am headed up to a friend's cabin in a couple weeks.  It is in Rockland.  Is there anywhere right near there to fish in the Allegheny?  I have not been up that way in about ten years.  Might be more inclined to come up once or twice a year if I can find some good fishing.  This is my big escape from the kids activities for one weekend.  Please PM me if you know any good spots.

Thanks

The Allegheny River is close and you can wade the river right now. Plenty of smallmouth and walleye. Best bet is to catch crabs or riffle runners but your favorite atrificials will work also. Concentrate on riffles or anywhere with current.

Thanks for the info guys.  I am new to the board and have not been up in that area for so long I barely remember it.  Any info is greatly appreciated.

theres a descent spot downriver from the kennerdell bridge. Also anywhere around the bridge is good for smallies. Ive been fishing there pretty frequently for the last few weeks and have been averaging probably 20 smallies a day and havent fished more than 2 hours in a day yet. But none have been bigger than 11-12in. If you know how to fish the river, just pick an access point and start walking/boating. Youll find a nice spot and some fish, fish are everywhere and theres good spots everywhere. Good luck.

Lots of good places around Rockland. Back in the day 80's & 90's this area was tops.
Some things have changed, but it is still a good area. Great place to wade. Sept. & Oct.
    was the best months.
