When Are You Going?

I know mostly everyone has been posting their plans here & there.
A few are going up next week & a lucky bunch have already been there at least once.
I'll be up there next week on my annual trip with my dad & uncle.
My dad (who's never really been a fisherman) tells me he really wants to catch a Steelhead. I am going to try to make it happen, but that game is never a given.
I haven't heard many reports of Steel in the river, but people are mostly targeting the running Salmon I think (hope).

I hope to get up near the end of Oct., but it's dependent on finances with XMAS getting dangerously close about then.

Hope to meet some of you there.

I'll be coming up Oct 17,18 or possibly the 24 and 25th, depending on water conditions and weather, had a damm hard time booking a room these were the only dates I could get, hopefully most of the crowds will die down by then?

usually I've been there two or three times already, gas prices are crimping my style!

october 20-23rd.............the old man and I will make our annual trek to the SR
lost our regular room at the 1880 house last year (cancelled and lost my annual spot )and we had to settle for a room at Super 8--no more of Linda's delicious home-made soups and breads.......what a bummer

we missed last year due to my shoulder surgery.........I did manage a two day trip last year...spent more time driving than fishing

Surgery again this year on March 20.........Hemi-Arthroplasty..........left shoulder..........not sure how much fishing I can do.......mostly holding a video camera I would think.........first surgery left me with some nerve damage.......

But, in any event I will get to smell some salmon this year.............can't freakn' wait!!!!

Soon... got to finish healing up and get a few things in order with the happy homeowner must fix list.... I usually would have had 3 trips in by now but extra expenses have curbed my fish time and the guys I fish with are strapped for cash this month. Next month hoping to do 2 trips. Then 1 or 2 in early November. It all depends on the weather also.

Could happen. Few long rides this year again but you never know. Its just how hot those late Oct fish are before the first truly cold snap saps a bit of zing from them.

We are heading up Oct2-7. I can't wait to get up there. I have been tying everyday and running to gander mountain a few times a week to get hooks and stuff to tie with. Also, we have room for one more if anyone is interested. We are from Johnstown, PA.

If you want to come up and make sure you are extra prepared for your trip, you are more than welcome, lol. If not we will save a few for ya. Did you lose a guy for your trip also. My buddy has drills with the gaurds the exact same days. They switched dates on him. He is a bit ****ed about that.

I actually rented a place a little to the west of the Salmon river (I am assuming thats where you are going). I have a friend that lives in Oswego also. Maybe I wikll meet up with you all and just make a week and a half of it. Who knows. I might hate combat fishing after that stretch then...welll....naaaahhhhhhhhhhhh

tommy, yeah we will be on the SR. We rented a place in Pineville. We waited to long to get a place but got lucky enough to find a trailer for rent at a campground. If you want to meet up at the SR just let me know.

The ONLY prob I have from mid-late Oct is that the leaves can be quite a beoutch----prob the best time to hit a SR slam though.
