rod storage system for boats

Sorry,I can't post the picture of what I made for my boat. It wouldn't make sense if you can't see them. I have them on shutterfly if anyone has any ideas on how to post them.I hot glued the golf tubes into the front part and used cardboard as a template for the two holders. I used some 1/2" plywood laying around the house for the stands. This only took a couple hours to build and was really simple, it was just the idea that took a little thought. Contact cement was used to hold the carpeting down, then I just set some heavy weights on a flat board on top of them overnight to get good adhesion. The grommets to hold the rod handles were hard to find, but I found them on Ebay. They look like a rubber, thick whisker biscuit if you are a bow hunter. The rod handles do not come out even in good sized waves. Only thing needed was a bigger rod locker, but I am stuck with what I got.

It is the only rod storage compartment I have in the aluminum bass boat on the passenger side. I saw a company named Reel Unique rod holders that had a small business on the internet that made something similar out of cutting board material, but they wanted $115+ shipping and I don't think theirs would have looked right in it. Besides, I posted it on the non fishing forum about their website to see if it was a good idea and the resounding answer was for me to build it myself so that is what I did. Thanks for the compliment.
