Wading for Night Walleye

Could anyone tell me if the walleye are still coming into the shallows up Pymy at night, and if i would have any luck wading for them?

jer, not really sure about now.  i waded for eyes up there until this year (started in the 70s) and in the past, they were done by mid-late april.  i am sure they come in to feed throughout the year, but never got them in the numbers that we did in the spring or fall.  by the way, walleye population is way down.  from the folks i talked to, this spring was a rough one.  treefrog for up in astabula got them pretty good for a while, but he is the only one that i heard of  who hit them good.  you might want to consider crappies in the shallows now, or smallies as they get ready to spawn.

I to have not heard of anyone catching them wading at night.  It is getting a little late in the year for that.  Rap is right the numbers are way down right now.  We have been picking at them drifting in the north end but nothing like years past.  Our best day we got 8 in about 4 hours.

I actually have a camp up there and fish Pymy regularly. I also know of 3 guys that picked up 18 legals in 3 hours on the south end.

jer, i can still be done, but days like that are rare.  know a veteran who fishes daily.  hear he is not limiting out, picking a few up here and there.  even has days of getting skunked.

I agree that it can still be done.  We caught 25 in just over 3 hours one day last year.  Kept our 3 man limit and went home.  But the days of doing that very often are definately few and far between.  If yo don't believe the veterans just look at the results from past tourney's the results keep getting lower and lower.  Alot of times now one fish gets you in the money.
