Seriously, G5's fly about as well as any broadhead on the market.  You could try Muzzys or something else like a Wasp or Magnus Stinger, but it seems like an awfully short window to be d!ck!ng around with your setup (hate to say it, but this should have been resolved several weeks ago).  If you can't get Something dialed in quickly, you might be better off to pick up some Rages and use those rather than making a poor hit and wounding an animal.  Good Luck and Shoot Straight.

Will the rage heads have enough pentration to go through the hide of a bear at 35 yards?I also know this should of been handle weeks ago but i'm self-employed so taken 9 days off i had to build the bank roll up. Do you have to line the blades up with the flecthing and how big should the fletching be?

if you are going with mechanicals and want penetration stick with a 2 blade, they will probably penetrate as well as your fixed blades.  I like a small fixed blade tip with two expandable blades.

Chicken,  Rage is a good head.  Use the two blade version.  It will penetrate all you need (likely blowing through, unless you hit shoulder blade.  They do indeed fly exactly like field points and you do not need to line the blades up.  You should probably check with your outfitter and make sure they allow expandables.

Parker said "just make them tight and shoot."  That is fine, but you have 3 days and if you do not know how to do that, it can be difficult and extremely frustrating.  If you have an archery shop with a twenty yard range close by, he can help you dial your fixed heads in with your setup.  Not seeing your setup shoot, I will not begin to give you advise at this late stage of what to do to get the bow tuned, as you will likely get more frustrated than when you asked your original question.

If you are not sold on the Rages, there are some other good mechanicals out there such as the Spitfire, JackHammers, and Grim Reapers...

    Good Luck, Griffon

Although I didnt use the pre-season heads, I am shooting montecs this year.  I took one from the package and started shooting.  Been shooting for about 2 weeks with it and have yet to make adjustments.  Flys like my field points (I shoot 100 grain size.)  Farthest I can shoot here at the house is 27 yrds and i am on from that distance as well.

My friend swears by Grim Reapers, has shot 3 does and a buck the last 5 years of archery and all have fallen to reapers.  He tells me he wont shoot anything else.  Good luck on your bear hunt!!

Good Luck,  If you are going to shoot the heads you have been shooting at targets, get a diamond stone and resharpen them.  G5's are at a different angle than other broadheads, so a conventional sharpener will not be effective.  Otherwise, screw on new heads and shoot those rather than your target heads.  Shoot Straight and carry a bug suit...

I'm glad you resolved your tuning issue, rather than changing to mechanicals.  A lot of guys swear by this broadhead or that one but I believe that if your bow is properly tuned, just about any broadhead, fixed or mechanical, will kill quickly and humanely.  Good luck on the hunt.
