best place for salmon

thanks for letting me know what you guys for kings, but i also need to know a good place and when i should go for a chance at some big fish. i heard sept. and i heard wait till oct. i want to try to be there at prime time.            thanks.

    That is the magic question.
    If you fish any time late Sept. through Oct. there will be Salmon.
    Don't worry about a big fish as they are mostly all pretty big. 12-20 pound fish are common & luck may give you one in the 20's in my experience.
    The problem lies in getting the things to strike. They don't all strike- esp. after being bombarded with lead & all that.
    I fish Comets with chain eyes mostly for Salmon. I don't know what it is about that fly, but I've had them come as far as 8 feet to snatch one up.

    As far as where? Oswego or the Salmon river is my only experience up there. Both get plenty of Kings.
    If nothing's happening in the SR go to Oswego & you may hit a run there.

    Kings are fun if they'll eat. I want to catch a Coho this year. Have never done that.
