Juniata River(Not Little J)

Anyone been near the river lately... hows the flow, thinking of throwing some flies sunday. Bass biting? Hot Colors/Flies? Topwater in the morning?

BTW... ACTUAL RIVER... not little j

    I haven't fewed the Juniata for two years but.. it's at a good level now.  Around Williamsburg, smallies and rock bass feed on the rivers hatches.  Surprisingly, the river actually gets decent ones in May and the fish's willingness to rise is something different.
     
    Otherwise, it's tough to beat a size 6 chartuese/white clouser used most conditions.

    Try crawfish flies. They are a killer in that river.

    Bet you catch a bunch on both.  That river is loaded with crayfish.  GL

    i came up from harrisburg today, the river looked rather cloudy, close to muddy. Its probably from the thunderstorms we had yesterday

    It was muddy near Hollidaysburg on Sunday  .. not high, but nasty color.

    It was choc milk, kelsea caught one smallmouth about 10" on a WORM.... i caught nada, gonna go again in a week or two.

    Killed the bass on the j with a purple worm a few yrs, ago hot bait.
