HAPPY NEW YEAR and Goooooood Morning FishUSA'rs
and what a beautiful morning in Penn's Woods it is.

Clear blue skies all lit up with a big beautiful sun. Air temp at forty degrees and climbing with the wind at a standstill.

Weather dude reporting temps over the next couple days to be slightly cooler than first reported (imagine that). Rain still in the forecast for Tuesday then we should see temps dropping into the teens to lower 20s.

Ahhh baby, On the ice again.. Just can't wait to get on the ice again... Drilling holes with my friends.. On the ice again...

Lol... yeah I know yinz thinking "corny" but that's just 'cause, I thunk it first.

I'm assuming perch. I got 3 keeper brown trout today but would gladly trade off .
It got mighty cold again last night and tighten up the watershed we fished yesterday.
We got brave and ventured past our comfortable 4" we fished yesterday and I was standing on 2" snow covered ice that made me uncomfortable. Caught fish, stayed on top but I think I'm heading back to the adks next weekend where there was 10" ice

Yep perch try to go 8inches an up unless t's gut hooked. I do tip ups so I get some. 8 were above 10. About 1.50#of fillets when done. With the rain we will see if it holds, if it does cold reps WTF should tighten it back up.

Big kick below the belt to this winter season today. Warm Temps and pouring rain moved in overnight into the day . All flowing waters are moving at a quick pace and local hardwater is shot .
I'm quite sure those lakes I fished with 10" ice will fare fine but the big skimmed laker waters won't .
Gotta travel this weekend to fish .

Bring on the deep freeze dance jack please

Supposed to get an ''Epic'' storm on the tug tonight and tomorrow. 1 to 4 feet.  Lets see what we get. Gonna start to freeze up here too.  Wind is howling

I saw an article yesterday on line about how much snow Tug Hill and that area get every winter. It is crazy I know I couldn't take to many of those winters. I'm from PA and I hate our winters.

Houses and camps up around Barnes Corners and over into Montague often have doors on both the first and second floors, so they can get out in the winter as well as the summer.  Most places put a ladder up to the roof in the fall and it stays there until spring, so they can get up there to shovel when the weight threatens the beams.  They issue snowshoes to kids when they leave the hospital after birth!

The bulk of the storm hit from Adams to the black river. Lt's of snow. Here we got a total of 3 inches.  Bad news is my ice got over a foot on it. That coupled with the warm weather will not let me know were the sketchy ice is. There were some bigger holes formed from gas pockets and water making drilled ones bigger. Not going to chance a bath.

Weather dude forecasting a overnight low of 7 degrees F. for my little piece of Penn's Woods.

At present, my mercury is showing 2° F.

Be shaving the ice, soon as I get over whatever people are getting over this time of year.

Looking forward to some long term, sitting on ice.

And maybe catching some stupid fish.

Tight lines to yinz.

Hot Tuna if your seasonal wardrobe is made by L.L. Bean don't be surprised, while you're out enjoying nature at her best, people asking if you are from TWC and wanting a weather forecast.

Beautiful day in PA. with a light snow falling and a temperature of 11° F. here in my little piece of the PA. Wilds.

Tight lines and great times.

15° F. wit a wind chill of -1° and horizontal snow. Ahhh baby nuttin like a baloney and cheese samidge freshly toasted over a Coleman Lantern and a cup of veggie soup poured from a cheap thermous bottle while sitting in a ice shanty.

'cept that ain't happenin' with me 'cause I'm in agreement with Pafisher and parking my old asz in front of the TV.

Stillers is lookin mighty fine so far, and I am soooo hoping, the officials don't start playing flag football.

Special note to them that ventured forth today and would wish to toast your sammy's over a Coleman Lantern; them fluorescent lanterns seem to take forever.

Gooo Stillers!!!

Thanks Gerry , that pic don't do justice to the size of the crappie. They we very big .
I kept 6 crappie, 4 perch and 1 gill.
Heading to laker land this weekend, salmon river the next then back to the panfish heaven the following.
Seems like the real fishermen are still fishing, lol
