This is an epidemic. Talk to any HS athlete’s parent that doesn’t happen to be a coach and 99% would agree. Parents should be banned from coaching school teams.

 
 
Even if I was qualified to coach a varsity sport - I'm not - there's no way I'd want to because of how crazy parents can be.  If a parent has some skin in the game, wants to put up with all the other crazy parents, and try to build a program while their kid is in the program and/or help their kid and their teammates make some great high school memories, I'm all for it, even if their kid gets a little special treatment once in awhile.  
 
 
 

 
Agreed Snagr...  If there were no parent coaches in my rural 2A district we wouldn't have programs.  The parent dynamic is always one that is difficult to navigate, especially when parents have zero or very little knowledge of the sport.  Most parents who know the sport will understand a coach's decision making if the decisions are reasonable. 
 
I have coached for twenty years at multiple levels including varsity sports.  I have coached when my kids were there and when they were not.  I lucked out because both of my first two kids were always good enough that there were no questions about their playing time.  I don't currently coach my third child in hoops or v-ball but she wouldn't play as much, that's just reality. I want to win and I want to put the best possible product on the floor/field. 
 
 There's also something to be said for being a coach's kid.  At least the kid of a coach who does things right.  That kid usually has it a little tougher than some of the other players.  They are asked to do things that other players would not be asked to do.  In my experience, there are times when they have it tougher that the other kids.

The Republican Party has made this an issue, not democrats. The history of attacking trans people for cheap political points goes back to bathroom bills, and North Carolina was the first state to push this bullshiit way back in 2016.

Right wing media did in fact do a great job of painting democrats as taking some wild, radical position on trans issues, but that in reality that is completely false.

Republicans started this debate and they keep bringing it up, over and over and over again.

I’m sure we will never know if anyone ever did and how much they made. Since we have known for decades politicians have done it and will do nothing to curb it. Some of the current moves, this is the only logical reasoning for doing it.
