You're just talking in circles now.  If we are at full capacity employment, who is going to work the returning manufacturing jobs you say will happen with tariffs?

Jerry, you're obviously not paying attention to a word i have to say and want to make chit up

Have a nice day

Musk said in an interview in early November that his entrance into politics was fueled by the vow he made to himself to do whatever he could to destroy what he calls the woke mind virus that he says destroyed his son.

Yea he couldn’t deal with his kid being trans. Also, by her account, he is a pretty shiitty dad.

https://www.nbcnews.com/news/amp/rcna163665

Beyond that tho, I’m sure musk is drawn to the Republican Party for the same primary reasons that all the other billionaires and tech bros are - low taxes, deregulation of whatever industry they are making their money in, basically the removal of any barriers to hoarding as much wealth as possible.

That's what billionaires do? Hoard the money? They don't reinvest it back into the economy? I'd like to know what backyard all those mason jars are buried in.

What *specifically* do you mean “reinvest it back into the economy”?

How about this?

Tesla laid off about 15,000 US workers earlier this year. While they were doing so they applied for about 2,000 H1B visas.

https://electrek.co/2024/...musk-want-to-increase/

A lot of people would look at that and say that they were replacing American jobs with foreign workers, and I’m not sure I would argue with that characterization.

Musk had publicly stated on Twitter that he thinks American workers are lazy. And H1B visas put the foreign workers under firm control of their employer, because all the employer has to do is threaten to deport them if they don’t work longer hours or work under terrible conditions.

But hey, let’s just trust the Republican billionaires. They’re the ones who are really fighting for the American workers.

Sources allege that junior foreign engineers at reduced pay rates filled many roles vacated by senior engineers who commanded higher salaries.

Kind of what I figured.
where it happens are in the senior positions
the production grunts get replaced with automation or outsourced to exploit peasant labor in India or China
(which Jerry supports)

I wouldn't
I would like to see details  though
were whole dept staffs  let go and replaced or was it more targeted to get rid of unproductive dead weight ?

by and large we have become fat 'n lazy.

To start, I would suggest individuals or groups whose interests aren’t diametrically to the best interest of the workers.

So the workers themselves, or groups of workers are a pretty obvious example. I’ll leave it to you to figure out what a “group of workers” could be, in practice.

Also, how about legislators or elected officials who have a proven track record of implementing or supporting policies that help workers? That would work for me as well.

would that be the port dock workers that demanded 60% wage increase?
