the current program doesn't expect a shortfall until 2028.
it will be funded before then. I know it and they know it too and only nincompoops believe otherwise
they're charactering the add on new bill as ending the program
which isn't true , but is typical for agenda driven slime reporting today

It’s not a new program or a new bill. It’s funding. That’s what I said in my original post. I never said anything about ending the program. But if it’s not funded, what exactly do you think will happen to the program?
The program was originally established in 2011. Thank America hating libtard John Stewart for that.
A recent attempt to secure funding was in the stand alone bill that you linked, but it never got through the Republican controlled House, so that bill died.
Then the bill sponsors tried to secure the funding by rolling it into the CR that Trump and Musk killed, and Johnson capitulated because he’s got the backbone of a jellyfish. It was left out of the final version of the CR that ultimately passed.
It’s very nice that you are so optimistic that it will get funded *eventually*, but I can’t think of a single reason why the house should not secure funding for this right now, can you?
Also if you actually read the history of this program in the Wikipedia link you posted, it’s just one example after another where congressional democrats tried to pass legislation to take care of 9/11 first responders while republicans blocked it.
