The media creates a new Orange Man Bad narrative this week that gets parroted everywhere, including here, that says Trump is cutting funding for cancer research.
I ask, "Oh, how much is he cutting from cancer research?"
Nobody can provide an answer. People resort to name calling and straw manning as usual because they know their Orange Man Bad narrative doesn't stand up to facts.
The answer is that the National Institutes of Health told these entities that receive funding to use MORE of the funding for actual research, less on indirect spending (capping it at 15%) instead of having no cap. In line with grants from private foundations that fund the same sorts of things - more generous actually because those are generally from 0-10%. NIH says funding is still the same, but you have to provide receipts and be more responsible with taxpayer dollars.
Of course there are lawsuits. People that need accountability and oversight really don't like it when they get accountability and oversight.
