As far as this business with the tariffs go I don’t pretend to know o understand much about it. I just hope President Trump knows what he’s doing. As far as I can tell he is trying to to level the playing field.

I wish it was just about leveling the playing field, bigfoot.
But now he's using it as ammunition to fire at countries over issues that have nothing to do with trade.
For me, it's a little worrisome. I hope he knows what he's doing, too.

Yes, that was a disgrace for the democratic party, I agree.

Trump should have announced to the boy and tv audience they just made a big cut to cancer research funds.

With all of the protectors of women in athletics, I’m shocked that I have never heard this. Or is it really about protecting women???

Well, judging by the fact that after Trump announced the tariffs, Canada and Mexico both then called his bluff, gave no concessions and instead Canada even announced retaliatory tariffs of their own… then the market took a dip, and also a number of economic forecasts have deteriorated in the last few weeks suggesting a recession… so then Trump backtracked (again) and postponed tariffs until April.

But Canada even decided they are gonna keep their tariffs in place anyway, despite Trump postponing our tariffs on them.

Does this sound like somebody that knows what they’re doing? Because you know what markets love? Chaos and uncertainty!

Wait until the next couple jobs reports when all the laid off federal workers start showing up in the unemployment numbers.

Oh yea and we almost certainly have a government shutdown to look forward to.

I’m really looking forward to the next phase of this mindfukk where MAGA starts telling everybody how this is all part of his master plan and he has to ruin the economy first and the entire country has to suffer through a depression for our own good.

Not sure if you edited this post or I just can’t find your other, if someone else posted, my bad. In regard to the Canadian tariffs of close to 300%. Not sure if you looked into it at all. If so search “Canadian TRQ”. There is a ton of info to sort through.
I don’t know of exactly when it started, the dates are out there somewhere. Due to multiple events, their domestic agricultural industry was almost destroyed. Since they don’t have the $Bs that our government has to pay off farmers for bad seasons due to events out of their control or even pay them not to farm, they set up a quota system. With this, until they reach their quota for domestic milk production or cheese, or soy beans or whatever, they tariff every country’s import on those items. Once their domestic goals are hit, they take away the tariff. I think we could all agree that keeping a country’s domestic food supply available is pretty high on the list of basic survival. They made sure it was part of NAFTA and USMCA. The US is “the bread basket of the world” and has $Bs in emergency funds to counter disasters or other that threaten our ag industry, so no real need for that quota system. We may actually have it written on the books somewhere though?

Pretty sure there were some guitar guys on here, no?

There is a rumor going around the internet that Andy Mooney sent a letter to FMIC dealers stating that all Mexican and Chinese FMIC products may go up 10-25% in price starting in April, and they are urging their dealers to order as much inventory as possible in March before the tariffs kick in (which by now we know they may or may not even do LOL!).

FMIC owns a ton of popular musical instrument brands like fender, squier, gretsch, Jackson, charvel and others.

I think it’s a pretty safe bet that FMIC isnt the only company that will be doing this, and surely many other companies in many different industries are going to be adopting similar strategies to cope with Trump screwing up the economy.

Chaos, uncertainty and higher prices - that’s what MAGA calls winning I guess?
