So to visit again I'm happy to hear your garlic is doing well.
With the extremely mild winter, my garlic never lost their initial sprout and has continued to send energy to the bulb. I expect a fantastic harvest this season.
As coyote also said, my lettuce and spinach produced right through December .

Today was a break from the 9 weeks I've been traveling north to walk on hardwater.
Organized my seed starting program and planted 3 varieties of peppers.
In about 2 weeks I'll start the bulk of vegetables.
We placed our order for meat chicks to arrive on may 6th and filled out the cut sheet for our cow, which is hanging and will be processed by the cobleskill suny agricultural college students.

Soon the weather will warm to get more outdoors projects started and the mighty muddy will be full of ocean run striped bass and mght need someone to clean the pool.
Monday I'm heading back north for possibly the last trip on hardwater.
It's been a challenging ice season but always rewarding to have fresh fish for the table.
Peace and tuna

Did 2 flats of tomatoe seeds today. Mostly saucers with about 3 dozen slicers mixed in. I won't start any vine stuff until later. Last year I started them the same time and they all croaked before it was time to get them in. Good luck Gents. It's time to grow again. 🙏

I got everything in peat pots. 30 sum Romas and atleast that many German Plums. Friend of mine gave me a bunch of seeds, different varieties, that I have about 2 dozen each. An Amish Paste, Mortage Lifter, Opalka and another kind of heirloom slicer. I also gave some seeds to the local greenhouse and she's starting me a whole flat of those German Plums. Needless to say, looks like I'll be expanding again this year. I finally got the raised bed prepped. I'm going to try and get my lettuce and herbs in this weekend. Garlic looks great, also. Maybe this weather will finally give us a break so we can actually get some work done. Here's to another great growing year🤞👍👏

Got the majority of the garden planted today. 48 tomatoes, beans, taters, cukes. Got to finish topping off the 2 new raised beds tomorrow 1 is 15x3 and the other is 12x4 then get the corn, pumpkins and some more beans in. We had already planted the peppers, onions, carrots and peas a few weeks ago.  Now we hope for timely rains

Other than beer in a tin pan, what else is a good slug bait/killer? I got a slug problem in my strawberry patch.

I cut a bunch of thorn and jagger bushes the other day. Saved some to lay/box around plants. Some people use lime also...  https://www.youtube.com/w...7GYY_DTOKI

Things are growing like crazy and I’m picking blueberries at the moment like there’s no tomorrow.
I would post some pictures but don’t feel like converting them into jpg

Did make seven 4' x 12' raised beds at camp this year and they are doing good so far. Just tough to keep a close eye on when only there every other week. Hope to make six or nine more beds next spring or later this fall.

Two of my sons are going in on buying a Vineyard / Fruit Orchard. The one needs the 2 large buildings that go with the property and his brother is interested in the grapes and fruit trees. The one building has a overhead crane a couple large air compressors, some other industrial shop machines, natural gas, water, offices and has 3 phase + single. The floor is 3 foot thick of concrete. The other building he can store a bunch of boats, box trailers and some of his trucks. The orchard / vineyard has been well taken care of.

Yeah I bet it is to keep everything healthy. He has the Amish helping with his other gardens so I'm sure he will need their help. He needs to start taking  a bunch of Garlic and other crops to auction now. Hard to believe a Grapevine can live 100 years ++ with good maintenance and a lot of luck. Least he has a free supply of nice leaf mulch and cheap compost. He should have bought my 10 ton dump truck from me last year. Oh well a pick-up and trailer might be easier to spread from?
