I sprayed my fruit trees twice with neem before blossom.
I'm liking what I'm seeing.
Very way behind on vegetables.
Peppers and herbs are planted but the giant tomato plants are still waiting for the raised beds to be done.
Fishing was a huge distraction for a month.

My pigs and 14 day old meat birds are doing great and that's what the imminent focus has been.
This is my first weekend home since April 23rd so LOTS of chores to do, including that hole in the ground called a pool, lol.

Off to deer camp on our traditional memorial weekend of peace and solitude on a mountain. Still, it will be a work detail as we want to build a shooting shack for my youth hunter grandson.
Stay hydrated.

I'll finish up this weekend. I have to go to the greenhouse today for a few things. Everything is in besides some peppers and eggplants. I better because that Big Lake is calling me and as soon as she lays down, I'm gone.

Got it done. Swealterd in the brutal heat yesterday and this morning building 3 5x10 and 2 5x5 raised beds. It was a struggle just trying to level the ground, cut the lumber, line the boxes and fill the beautiful soil. No matter it's going to be well worth the effort. 36 tomato plants in and 4 pickle cukes planted.
Perfect timing as we got a nice dose of rain to help. Still some more vegetables to plant but it's very good knowing my staples are in.
Within that time, the pool is open and grandkids were swimming.
Chickens are going to make their way to the outdoor pen next week. They grow amazingly fast.

Way to go ht, I did the same except I only built 2- 3 x 15 beds and filled with tomatoes, peppers and some lemon cukes. Also got my bush beans, sweet corn, pumpkin, gourds and rhubarb planted. Next up the rest of the cucumbers, pole beans and some more potatoes.

Everything is in, finally. Mostly Bells, but did half dozen each on large Cayennes and Infernos. Dozen eggplant, few rows of beets n beans. Did my usually hills of pickles, cukes, zuchs, koosa and pumpkins. Over 80 tomatos, 6 kinds, but the lions share are plums. Onion sets are popping and the garlic is growing like crazy. I tried a pack of corn also. Guess I'll havta to wait and see with that. First time. It's next to the garlic patch. If it doesn't come up, I'll just add it to that space when it comes time for the second planting on the beans. Maybe monsoon season is over and we can get some growing weather? Let's hope for tha best.

You folks are doing great and WAY ahead of me.
Pretty much no free time here but at least we have our staple vegetables in. All the rest I will weekly shop for at the farm store.
Our chickens are ready to come out of the brooder and their tractor pen is ready but I won't be around this weekend so they have to wait until Monday so I can monitor them.

Heading to our deer camp on the mountain early Saturday morning to spend the weekend with my son and grandson.
Going to build him a shooting shack. 6x6x6 4feet off the ground.
Fun times.

We got a good dose of some much needed rain yesterday afternoon and overnight. Was starting to get worried we were heading into another June drought. It kinda seems the normal now with wet cold springs, drought June and wet mid to late summer.

My blueberries , peaches and apples are all producing well. Glad I took the time to spray them so we'll hopefully get a good harvest.
Garlic is growing off the charts. Gave them a boost of nitrogen for their final push and should produce some really nice bulbs again.
I think these are in their 6th year off the same strain of cloves. I did mix in a new strain last fall so well see how they do.
Chickens are huge already and pigs are starting to eat more food so their growing well.
Happy gardening folks.
I'm off to the high mountain

Oh Mary, Mary Quite Contrary how's everyone's farm and gardening going ?
Mine is poor. I well neglected my preparations and paying for it now.
While my tomato plants were large when I finally got them in , they've just kinda been stunted after.
Pepper look terribly weak and cukes are doing nothing since sprouting.
I don't run soil samples but have a feeling there is an issue.
After I sprayed my peaches with neem, they look horrible. Drying up and falling off along with leaves.
Apple trees are ok but the apples already look scabby.
This is not what I was hoping for in a time of record food prices. It's hitting my local farm stores in the way of rising costs of business.
Passing on a lot of things due to price increases.
Tough times ahead and it's not because of covid this go round.

On the bright side:
Garlic is doing fantastic as are the chickens and pigs. Did big improvements in preparations on that end so at least we still won't be buying meats for another year 🤞.
Be well and hunker down.
