It's that time of year. Pulled the Daisy out of hibernation. Mechanically seems all good. 5 small boats in creek today for bait.
Their definitely around. I'll probably scout this week with jboat.
Splashdown on 4-20 at marina.
Fun stuff ahead.

r3g3 They are tearing down the bridge abutments. Time will tell what impact, if any, it has on that stretch of water.  I know for some unknown reason the upper trestle has not fished well recently.  Some guides have said the trough has gradually filled in making it less productive.

I never fish it and park at T South only to access the areas of lower vines well above on foot but its always been a great circus show to stand above and watch,,
OH well another memory of the past i guess,
The cobble bottoms up above often change from season to season --guess some coulda moved down and filled in,
Cant see changing things to a man made eutopia that will also change again in time

I can't say the reasoning but have 2 guesses that seems logical.
1. Its still part of the LO settlement and restoration project started years ago with I believe the LFZ. Along with lots of grant money.. NYS has be dishing out more than we can handle as taxpayers.
2. Which I doubt here, it's a TU funded project ( again grant money) to tear down unnecessary dams and do stream restoration projects.
Seeing this isn't an actual dam, I'm leaning towards project #1

As for #2.
TU has taken down dams built in the 19th century on streams for logging purposes back then but remained until recently .
I know some of the rivers/ streams have changed dramatically since they started this.
Once nice holding pools for trout have become death trap sandbars and lots of anchors ice.

Had one of those 'friends of" people whos organization pretty much runs a huge wooded area near me where my favorite local trout stream runs through,,They controll about a mile or more of the river.
She told me one day they were going to go in and cut out the overhanging brush and downed trees across the river so it could 'run free again'.
I went nuts an asked when the run free time ever was with the exception of some peoples minds
Then I sat on a log and had  a long talk about the benefits of COVER and pools created by downed trees and brush to the fish and wildlife.
She was the Pres of the club and they never did that project
