Starter on Mercury 20 HP

I have a 20 HP mercury 2 stroke with electric start.  It started fine last time on the water.  But took it out again and the starter would not kick in.  Is there any way to test to check if the starter is any good?  Note:  the motor starts with the pull cord.

The only thing better than 1 day of fishing is 2 days of fishing.

Does it click? Is there power to the starter solenoid when attempting to start? Does it start with jumper cables on the battery?

If the motor starts with the pull cord, but the electric start isn't working, the issue could be with the starter solenoid, the battery, or the starter itself. First, check the battery to ensure it's fully charged and the connections are clean and tight. Next, test the solenoid by bypassing it with a screwdriver......if the starter kicks in, the solenoid is likely the issue. If not, the starter may need to be inspected or replaced.
