New here, looking for the experts

Hello everyone,

Looking for some guidance on equipment for the salmon run this year. I skimmed through to see some older posts but figured I would post and see if there is new techniques.

I am brand new to Salmon and quite an amateur to fly fishing

I'm currently using an 8WT 9' Redington predator rod and Behemoth reel and wanted to find out what line types and leader/tippet sizes work the best for the river.

By all means if there is other important tips I would need for my first time at the run it would be welcome!

The young lady at SALMOM RIVER SPORT SHOP downtown alongside the river did some great demos on tackll this year on video from her shop--nice to SEE how to do it instead of reading it.
Quite likely archived on the shop site,

I never give fly advice- on a 10 scale I am perhaps just above amateur- a 2 --even after years of trying lol.
There was a great time in this boards past when your request woulda had fly fishers tripping over each other with advice from what flys to knots to line setups--sadly time has taken its toll and many are no longer with us,
