Trump had some good policies on Chinese trade. He called them out and took action. Biden followed this and kept many Trump era legislation in tact.
Trump brought immigration to the forefront. Biden redacted some policies, but kept many others. It is nowhere near the MAGA moron cheer of open boarders, but if redacting all to Obama level policy, it pretty much would be. But not nearly the flooding of migrants back then. To me, the policy is wrong under both. Parts are right, but neither address the source of the problem. Help those countries with industry, would kill two birds with one stone. It keeps their people there with jobs and it lessens the reliance on China for junk. Until that is done (which isn’t even being discussed), you have to do something to slow/deter the flow.
Trump likes to turn every complex problem into an idiot chant. It isn’t a simple solution like his cult of morons like to chant. He does this with just about every issue. Not only in the chants, but in the policy proposals themselves. He is a very intellectually dumb person, but the ability to gather support from those dumber. Which wouldn’t be too much of an issue if he were just the figurehead and had smart people surrounding him. He starts with smart people, but they all resign because he is such an idiot. Look at his old cabinet and how many not only left but explained why they left was Trump being an idiot.
Agree on the complexity of inflation and that it is a global issue with the US handling better than the majority of the world. That said, Biden is pushing many campaign promises (pre-inflation ideas) that will raise inflation. Most Dem ideas do this. Dems like to “fix” things that often don’t need “fixed”. Which cost money. “Tax the rich to pay for it”, “pay their fair share”…. When is this going to happen? Often they push through the programs that are supposed to be funded by this, but end up not “making them pay their fair share” and guess who ends up ultimately paying? If pushed on corporate taxes, those are pushed on to prices, which is inflation. Sort of the rally cries from the other side on “entitlement reform” will seemingly solve every problem, until you look at how much would actually be saved (if you aren’t talking Social Security).
Both options are horrible. Trump more so, for the piece of trash of a human he is. If he gets in, I highly doubt the end of democracy or other that many predict. I’m an old white guy (nearing 50), looking more and more like Kenny Rogers every day. I like fishing on my gas powered boat, pulled by my gas powered truck. I work for corporate America with the military being my top client. For me, I’d probably be better off financially under Trump. But my conscience won’t ever allow voting for such a scumbag of a subhuman.
Whichever gets in will be facing a likely cold war with Russia/China/North Korea. An extremely overvalued housing bubble that is going to burst within the next few years. Interest rates that make purchasing anything needing a loan, next to impossible. Including higher education. Neither are remotely the best for the job.

Good question. I didn't know she was born there. I checked it out and her mother was born in Indiana so that makes her a natural born citizen. Same question arose in regard to John McCain and ex president Barack Obama. It seems to me the rules in regard to who is and who isn't a natural born citizen are somewhat murky.

Obama was born in Samoa? I think she’d make a good VP pick though if Samoan’s are considered “naturalized citizens”. I really don’t know if she is considered or not, but very likely would be challenged in court. Which is all we need is more court cases for this mess of a government we have. If she is considered a “naturalized citizen” maybe American Samoans, Puerto Rican’s and the other 14 territory residents should be given the right to vote?

The Samoa’s has a whole arnt’t considered as natural born citizens. If they have one parent who is, then they are considered natural born also.

Makes sense to me. It would be pretty funny with all of Trump’s mentions of Obama and Harris not being eligible, to choose someone in that same “gray” area. But hypocritical is something to expect with politics. Gabbard endorsing Bernie Sanders, then being VP for Trump would define hypocrisy.

Hypocrisy in politics. Seems the norm rather than the exception to the rule. Another word I might use for the Gappard , Bernie endorsement and her as Trumps vp would be ironic.

So Biden is gonna debate, but he gets to call all the shots? Thought I heard them say the first one is in Atlanta? Easy to see why Biden would want it there. Total Democrat city and they all hate Trump. They ought to do it out in the center of the country, like KC or Omaha or something. He wants it done in a private news studio with no live audience. He wouldn't want national television broadcastin' the groans from the crowd when he loses it and gaffes big time. Wants the mic shut off when each question time limit expires. (I can agree with that one. Hate it when they're tryin' to yell over each other). No third party candidates. Kennedy is polling 12/13 % and the 'Crats have discovered he's pullin' more support from Biden than he is from Trump, so Biden don't want him stealin' his Progressive support, cause Kennedy is far to the left of Bernie Sanders or Liz Warren. Nut case. In this election I don't think anybody has anything to look forward to. I wish it was already over. The world is laughing at us.

I still doubt they happen. Simply put, I'd be shocked if Trump agreed to anyone elses rules, other than his own. He didn't do great in the one(s?) in 2020 that I remember, but they're both deep in geriatric territory now so, tables can easily turn. RFK's just grifting the family name. Regardless of him personally, I'd think any Presidential hopeful of the big 2 parties wouldn't want 3rd candidates getting anything. They're no threat to win anything, and only hurt the main candidates, so that part make sense. Puff Daddy is a disgrace, and a cowardly excuse for a man.

I’m sure Trump will try to outdo the Dems. Already throwing around names that rival Larry, Moe and Curley. This all has to be some sort of joke for the 1% that run everything regardless of the clown they put at the head. Them - “How do we outclown having “W” as President”??? Everyone with a brain cell - “I’d take another term of “W” in a heartbeat”.

Anything besides hung jury/mistrial, I’d be shocked. Without it being broadcast, we are all relying on “reporters” to deliver the information. So, where you get your “reports” are going to give completely different information. I just think with how politically divided this country is, finding 12 truly impartial jurors is impossible. If it comes outs as acquitted or guilty, then the actual trial must have been extremely clear cut. I doubt either of those being the case.

I agree, Pork. It should be a hung jury. If you get your info from MSNBC or The View, it's a slam dunk conviction. The rest of the MSM have some questions. Fox has had 3 or 4 former prosecuters and two major constitutional experts, (Turley & Dershowitz, neither of which are Trump fans and are both Democrats) stating this trial is absurd, with many parts of which will be overturned in appeal if convicted. This judge should have thrown the case out long ago, but he has helped and continues to help the prosecution in various ways as he is so biased. He doesn't deserve to wear the robe even as a JP, let alone a judge. There are two attorneys on the jury. They know the law, and even if they couldn't convince the rest of the jurors that the prosecution did not prove its case, you'd think that they at least would vote not guilty. They need a full jury to either convict or aquit. All it takes is one to end up hung, and I think a hung jury it is.

I’m pretty shocked. Thought for sure a hung jury in this political climate. Especially with two attorneys and a juror that was an admitted Trump fan with Truth Social account and had read his book.
Trump has proven over and over to be a scumbag, so I have absolutely no doubt that he had the affair and tried to bury it. And doubt this and the others in the public eye were the only ones. I didn’t think he’d be convicted though.
I doubt it makes any difference for his supporters. Does it bring out the Independents that voted him out of office, to vote for the stiff again? Probably. If not, who cares. Either one horrible leader or the other.
Amazing that anyone is actually supporting either of these clowns though. Are all of our future elections going to try to outdo this? Is it going to be Charles Manson vs. Harvey Weinstein for the next election???

I actually don’t think this affects the election much at all, either way. The firm support on both sides won’t budge. Obviously.
Independents and undecided voters this cycle seem to be more motivated by their pocketbook right now, and there is a strong belief that republicans and trump are better for the economy. Personally I think that’s crazy and I could argue all day about whether it’s accurate… but regardless of whether it’s actually true or not, a lot of people are going to vote for trump because they think he will magically reverse inflation and make everybody rich and prosperous. People will look past all kinds terrible things if they think their financial conditions will improve.
If I had to guess, this probably eventually gets tossed on appeal. Just like all his other legal entanglements, he delays, appeals, keeps pushing it back further and further and further… and eventually people just stop caring. Must be nice to have enough money to do that.
It really is kind of a big deal though. A former president has been convicted of a felony. But after what, 10 years of trump nonsense, we are all just desensitized to the trump circus and alot of people are just tuning it out.
I could be wrong. There are still enough undecided voters to swing this election either way. Polling over the next couple weeks should tell us whether this will influence them. But there will also be alot of time for people to just memory hole this, just like they did with every other crazy nonsensical trump story from the last 10 years.

100% on this. That and Biden having absolutely no enthusiastic factor to him. Biden received possibly the largest “I’m voting for the lesser evil” vote of all time. With being old and out of touch at the time then. He is now OLDER and more out of touch. How the DNC didn’t “convince him” to have some sort of ailment or whatever to have him step aside, is amazing. Especially with the inflation factor, the guy could have been young and in touch and have issues. Nothing is worse for that majority of people than inflation. Recessions are bad for those affected. Inflation affects everyone. Unfortunately for whoever is next, whether Dotard 1 or 2, inflation isn’t going anywhere when property values are now at the top of the drivers. If they don’t lower, we are all in trouble (unless invested). If they crash, it is recession time and could make 08 look like nothing. I’m sure blamed on politics when it happens. But rather predictable at this point.
