New to the forums

I just got accepted and look forward to learning and contributing to the forums. I am a bank fisherman, usually small waters, i.e., rivers, streams, ponds, and small lakes. I want to learn homemade spoon and jig making. I am a novice fly tyer. I hope to incorporate tying into jigs and maybe spoons. Most of all, I want to have fun on the water fishing, taking a small harvest for the dinner table, and having fun.

Respectfully

Your hand ties will do well, especially under a float. Feather and hair jigs are just a few. In fact I tied some of my dog's fine hair onto a 1/16 oz jig and caught panfish. The other option is to use light jigheads with various soft plastics of which there are thousands. Finesse lures and presentations have been with us since the 2nd century and caught millions of fish.
