Went by the spillway this afternoon. A lot of the ice in the bays is gone and looks like the main lake was breaking up rather well. There were a couple of guys on the wire. Won’t be long now.

I have a camp there we have been catching lots of fish. The perch fishing has been fantastic with Jumbo size catches but you have to weed thru the dinks.Walleye we have caught not a tuna run but decent catches also catching alot of 13 and 14 inch subs.Blugill and bass are biting just about everywhere.I won't spot burn but i will tell you fish in the WEEDS with small jigs and piece of worms.Truthfully it's been a banner year.

Update on my camping adventure last weekend of July. Since I don't have a tow vehicle to tow my camper, we had to buy a tent and air bed to go. My Brother towed my small boat up there. Put boat in water and the wind was fierce. Motor didn't want to cooperate and died out on me. Trolling motor wasn't strong enough to move me too far. Wind kept pushing me towards shore. Had to beach the boat and wait for wind to die down. My brother at this point went and rented a pontoon. Tried to get back to boat launch and got within 20 feet of dock and wind acted up again. Brother had to pull me towards shore with rented pontoon. finally got to dock and tied up on opposite side of launch. Went out on pontoon and didn't catch anything. But at least it was a very nice weekend to sleep under the stars!
