Today MSP "Arthur" was covered with water. Probably a dozen out by Shannon Run, one hut in middle ov lake and didn't see anyone up MC or heading out 422 from 528 to south shore.

Eating pan fish at this moment but getting low.

We still have a few packs left, also. Our first massacre last year was mid March. With all the ice this year, I'm thinking thats going to be 3 weeks later this season.

Guys I talked to yesterday were doing good on the Hybrids. Would like to go down in a couple weeks before the Pike go into full spawn. Once Ice if off main lake it's kind ov late. If it goes anything like the last 3 years for me lucky I make it out once. Bait tank should have a few thousand minnows if didn't have a winter kill.

That is horrible about the log splitter. Ask around your neighborhood and see if anyone has a Ring or other camera. Someone may have caught it? Hopefully you locate it.

Took a long ride today in SWPA searching for some soft water. Other than some small, shallow farm ponds, there was ice everywhere I checked. The edges are melted away from all the rain I'm hoping by mid to late this week I can chuck a few floats somewhere.

Also took a ride today. Nothing much open. Could be mid April for the main lake. Those bays still have tons of ice on them too. Here's hoping for some 60s n sun...

Nice Mr. Crappie. Wind opened up some water in these parts today. It seems likely I maybe able to chase crappies somewhere Wednesday evening. Its been about 6 six weeks since our lakes capped off, and other than a few ice fishing sorties, I'm getting a little twitchy.

Is anyone living near Arthur able to give an ice report tomorrow?  I'm looking to take the boat out for the maiden 2021 voyage and targeting either the Allegheny or Arthur.  The river is currently ice free near me, but I presume the lakes are a bit behind.

I'm specifically targeting the 528 side, but any report would be appreciated.  I'm hoping the 50s today and 60s tomorrow make a dent in the ice.

Needed some exercise after being lazy most ov the winter and decided to take a walk to Lake Arthur from home. Don't think I'll be doing that again. Dumb idea after the old lady nailed me in the shin yesterday with a frozen log while splitting wood. Beautiful walk with lots ov Robins around.  Paying my sons to split and stack today and she is working for free  They probably have 30 truckloads to go

I hope you have a back way to avoid 528.  That winding part between the lake and your place is probably pretty dangerous to be walking on.  Guys fly on that road through those turns.

Did you get your log splitter back or are you making the boys do it the old fashion way?

I could walk across the street through my dads yard and go over the hill & through the woods to fishin' we go, but used the first dirt rd. 300--350 yards from home. Yeah that 528 ain't the best, should have seen it in the 60's -- early 80's. It was like a goat trail. A good bit of waterfowl around and 9 Swans to boot. Broke the ice off the bait tank into snow cone slush yesterday and wanted to check and see how the shiners & fatheads did over winter but it refroze last night. All the Fruity Pebbles I put in for feed yesterday was frozen on top today  Just noticed little bit ago Tim must ov dropped of a dozen 18 lb. bags ov lamb and chicken mix dogfood on side porch so I'll start feeding 'em that and see if they like it. He went and picked up 2800 lbs ov soft lead today.

Nah, on the log splitter that one was up Pymy place and had just enough snow on the ground to see where it got pushed to. Only maybe 10 houses on that 4 mile stretch it's farmland with a good bit of horse and buggy traffic. Found owners manual for it and was a 35 ton Brave. That thing wood split just about anything we could fit. $2,500 just rolled to the neighbors lol :) I didn't even report it to the Fuzz. Using a Husky 22 ton at home and works fine for most of the stuff we have here and much easier to move around. Just trying to get my yard back some. Had Tim start selling a boat a week last year and that only lasted for 5 weeks. He ended up buying 4 since then. He don't even live here smh. Told him to sell 3-4 from camp and only keep 2 good size ones in Slippery Rock. Easy sales this time ov year with spring fever, stimulu$ and tax return$ on the way. Yes there has been good sections ov open water to fish and wouldn't be surprised if all open in the next day or so.

Bummer on the log splitter Chris.  I would report it.  I'd imagine if it is reported stolen, you might be able to use as a tax write off?  I am not sure if that is the law or not, but would imagine they want it reported if it is.  I'm guessing you are at the very least looking in their yard when you drive by to see if it is there.  To be honest, that is one of the biggest reasons that I have not invested in a camp.  That and I am too cheap...  But I have heard horror stories of camps getting ransacked.  That fear and having to go there so often to do upkeep, I haven't been able to convince myself to do it.  Pymie would be awesome though.

Glad you didn't turn yourself into roadkill on 528!

Hope to run into you up there this year.

62* at 6:00 am in Linesville reported now. That should get the guys off the ice at Jamestown today I hope.

Tim, we have been very lucky since we got the place in Pymie. That was the first thing taken and had it for 5-6 yrs now. When first checked the place out guy had a Cub Cadet next to rd. for sale. He had a tool box full of Snap-On tools and more machinic tools laying next to it in the driveway. All doors wide open and a sign on the mower saying nobody home, be back at 5:00 ... lol. Ended up buying the mower from him and the house and property. Left a note on his door with my cell # and hung out at the Linesville beach checking out the ladies until he called me.

Heading close to Woodcock Lake tomorrow to pick up a old pickup so will check on the place then. I just love the old trucks this one is a 1988 from Georgia, not that old but they were made like tanks before 1993.

    Thanks for the report @crappiefisher.

I ended up taking the boat to Arthur yesterday.  Main lake was ice free, most of the creek arms still had ice.  By the time I left around 2PM, the Muddy Creek arm had opened up significantly.

    No fish caught.
    No bite activity.
    Saw a bald eagle.

    Water temperature was around 40 - 42.

Spending the night in Connie Township.. Got Truck transferred near Connie Lake and that was open as far as I could see. Checked Pymy up this way and looked pretty much open north of the causeway. Would have liked to gone Pike fishing yesterday (Thursday), conditions seemed about perfect but no dice. Maybe bring back a pound ov minnies but don't know if there was a winter kill off in bait pond. Raked it out of some plant life yesterday and found 1 dead Bullfrog, 3 large Shiners, 3 Fatheads, 1 large Chub and a big fat Yellow Perch. Did see some Eastern Newts swimming around. 3 ton lead today and 11 rod/reel outfits plus extra rods and some reels with bunch of boxes tackle  Sure hope he didn't throw that crap on front porch.

Bass fishing bulk sale. So much stuff not pictured
    $1,200

He wanted his brother to drive him to Cleveland the other day and bring back ANOTHER  U-Haul of fishin' tackle.  The old lady and I put a stop to that one. Guy is gonna give me another heart attack before I know it. Good thing his brother ratted him out. He won't even sell the stuff (brand names) says "he needs it."
No wonder why I pretty much quit fishin' the past 5 years, have nightmares ov being buried in hooks, scary looking big lures and all those rubber lizards/frogs/worms type stuff with anchors on top. smh
