Lake Arthur 2020
Starting to get the itch so I thought I'd grab the bull by the horns and start this years thread. Look for the sasquatch in an green Alumacraft jon and don't too shy to say hi.
Good luck this season fellow anglers. Good thing fishing is very effective at "social distancing"!

Should be. I was out last week and boats out. I opted to just wade. Dcnr site says the lake is open, but facilities are closed. So will need to use a tree and natures TP. Assuming people are hording leaves! https://www.dcnr.pa.gov/Pages/AlertDetails.aspx

Saw some boats on the lake in a couple different places Thursday while I was passing by on 422. Would imagine that means the ramps are open, but dunno if the docks are in or not.

Got a few largemouths, crappies and a bull gill yesterday. Nice day, but those south west winds on 528 are brutal. Got a nice wind burn from it. Good to get out away from everything. Would have been nice to get the boat out and move around a bit more. But watching all of the other boats getting pushed by the wind, it likely would have just irritated me more than anything. I opted to wade and just irritated by (guessing bluegills) hitting but not committing... Was enough action to be enjoyable, but was hoping for a bit more meat, but usually the case. Hopefully get out again soon enough.

Pork gooder for you.
We may not agree on all subjects but one for certain... I dispise the stupid wind.
I know I can fix that wind thingy though. I just go and buy a "wind turbine" and you can bet your last fish hook, on the wind stopping.
Buying a sailboat would be a second option.

Thanks for the report PT. Been thinking about getting up there myself to fish the lake and get my usual frustrating results for this time of year. Haha. Had a few friends post on social media yesterday that they went to Moraine (not fishing, just to get out) and couldn't believe how crowded it was.

Yesterday was possibly the busiest that I have ever seen the area that I was, which is usually pretty empty. I would bet the main lake, bike trail and other more used areas were packed. Hopefully that doesn't shut down things down for us that stay away from others. This time of year for me, is hit or miss. The water is still pretty cold. I was wading with my boot foot neoprenes with thinsulate in the boots. My feet were numb by the end of the day. If someone ends up falling in, I can see that forcing the issue of closing.

I went without bait this past trip. Not sure if ODonnell is open. Here is his number. Might be able to order by phone, to limit contact? Not sure what the rules are if he isn’t allowed to be open? (724) 368-3418 I had them hitting plastics, but may have caught more on live? I am sure the crowds had something to do with how nice of a day Thursday was. That is why I went, seeing rain all weekend...

Wondering where you were. I can’t post from my iPad since I have no clue what my password is... I’m getting a new phone soon, so down to just my computer unless I can find. Congrats on showing those girls how it is done. Unless they outfished you, then even better! Did you happen to hear someone beep at you from the road around 4PM? Wasn’t sure if you guys, but beeped anyway.

The youngest kicked our heads in. Lol. She's a chip off that block for sure. I think I'm gonna start working that over up there a little more. Atleast until the water warms up a bit down the other end.

Been to 528 and McDanel with boat last week. No docks yet. Few gills, crappies, perch and a 27" CARP. All on trout magnet under a float. Motor is acting up of course so took kayak to upper 528 launch. Few gill and crappies, lost a pike and caught a 15" & 18"" largemouth.

PT, It's the Best Ever, Greatest ov All Time, Nothing Like it Before. Or is it a Hoax? I'm gonna have nightmares for awhile! Son brought back a 15' U-Haul from Missouri yesterday loaded with fishing tackle machinery and tackle. Should have gotten a fork truck for unloading some ov the equipment. Made him go to camp tonight to refill the truck with Mustad hooks, jigs & tackle since he still had the truck 'till Friday so I get my 2nd fl. back to remodel. crappy I'm getting too old for this stuff. Have to go pick up a 740 lb. soapstone stove for camp this weekend

I dont know how ambitious you guys are Crappie, but the bait shop in New Castle , Allegheny Outfitters 2, is selling the building. Would be a nice shop for someone that's puts the time in. Previous owner wasnt exactly committed to it. It is listed on Keller Williams. $129,900 but I'm sure they will come down. It's a 2 business site. Someone does auto work in the back. Has 2 carlifts.
Just throwing that at there for ya.
