Far from it. Boated over a dozen bulldogging, pound for pound hardest fighting fish over the weekend in Franklin on the Allegheny. I ll take smallmouths everyday all day, versus wading in a trickle of a stream, with 4 fish and 136 anglers in September.

I ll fish the tribs when its mid to late December and into February.

PSU,perch don't have spawning beds. You'd think a college guy would know that.lol So I've never taken perch off their beds. I have put many to sleep.lol

I always check my boots and waders after I leave TeezerZ and KandyZ. Now as for Julietz I never check my gear. Plus they sell my favorite colored paahrbait “sherbet”

Good times and tight lines.

It takes me about 5 1/2 hours to get to Girard.  I leave home at midnight and bring a good down bag with me and a pillow.  I try to get to one of the two rest areas along I-79 and pull in there for a couple of hours of much needed sleep. When I get up I put my waders on, get off at the McKean exit, go to Girard for a coffee and then right to Elk.  I never had a problem and have seen other guys doing the same thing.

You do realize that spending money is what's driving this whole fishing scheme in Erie.  There's plenty of hotels in Erie that would be happy to take your money.  These days I use AirBNB with very good success.  

Correct, but In some situations people can’t justify spending a night in a hotel to just wake up and leave in the morning. I could care less about the Erie fishing scheme, the money that I do care about (and support) should be going to water access, fish health, and quality. Also taking care of the snaggers, other rule breakers and littering.

Out of towners aren’t very welcome by most locals so why should the “mupheres” or whatever that dumb term that was dubbed care about their local economy if they are just gonna be bitter about everyone coming to fish their streams and jam up their roads.

If your a 1-2 trips a year kinda crew than yea make a long weekend get away out of it, but if your like me who is there to strictly fish and nothing else then turn and burn if it’s reasonable distance.

Personally I can’t take back to back days, after fishing Erie streams 8-10 hours straight in one day I’m either sore from a good day or so disgusted and sick of seeing so many people that I want nothing to do with fishing for a few days.

Sleeping, waking up and leaving is what motels is all about.  

When I said I sleep in the I-79 rest area I meant I only sleep there for a couple of hours after driving 5 1/2 hours all night.  I always stay in a motel for 2 - 3 nights. I add to the local economy via lodging, meals, gas.

OJ rents his traylor out to anglers sumtimes. Bring him beer and he will let you stay....!
