Grass carp

Caught this big grass carp the other day. Wondering if they inhabit Lake Erie in great numbers. Fantastic fish to target during off season

Nice. What fly did it take? I've only ever had a couple of decent casts at grass carp. But I know a place I can find them if I'm patient enough.

Saw em feeding on the surface and threw a bugger .. overcast conditions were perfect

seen them at idlewild got one to take a nacho chip smothered in cheese  nice catch there erie flyfishing

Those are usually tossed in ponds and such for weed control..jus sayin

They all come from a private campground pond. Not public water. Put in for weed control

Thanks man. They are not easy to catch. Many days, I sit for 8 hours without a take. But then you have great days. I recently caught two in one day ! During a sulfur hatch

i didnt know they were invasive either,, i know big head and silver carp are 

All Carp in the USA are invasive species, common carp were introduced with the idea that they would provide a food source, that really worked out great didn't it!
