dreams washed out

I am embarrassed to complain about getting washed out for my early season Crappie fishing. When you consider how much damage others are suffering this is nothing,BUT due to health problems I already lost hunting season for the first time in 58 years & I was getting pumped for what I consider the best fishing of the year for Pike,Bass & Crappie. Crooked Creek is approx.40' high & rising & will be poor for the rest of the month at least. Well at least I can count on Shawnee or Yellow Creek I hope.   BTW if you have never seen Crooked Creek when the water is up over the bath houses,it is worth the drive to the overlook to see.  sam

Wow! Up 40'!? I remember I few years back it was up real high during the spawn and it seemed I like size and numbers of crappies dropped after that. Could have been coincidence I suppose. I don't get out as much as I used to. Think I might be at twin this afternoon with the wife and kid. Anything other than trout hitting?

Thanks for info. Scratching Crooked Creek off list. Also thinking about hitting Yellow Creek soon since it’s close but might focus on smaller lakes this spring.

Got a small carp at upper twin while my son was playing on the playground. Saw a few trout caught.
