Is there good ice anywhere around? today was freezing!! I am sure that will help.. I would like to go out Monday, and definately saturday. Hopefully

Stopped by Kahl Lake (Emlenton-Knox area) today and 1 person was on the ice.  No information on ice conditions.

Kahl is about .3 to .5 miles wide and about 1.25 miles long.  Electric motors are permitted.
 
I know the lake has your typical panfish, bass, walleye, and musky.  In the past they have taken some really nice perch and walleye out of the lake.  Good size crappies have been harvested also.
 
There are two boat launches, North shore (Venango County) and the South shore (Clarion County).  The East end of the lake is not very deep maybe 10-12 feet.  The West end down by the dam will be the deepest.  Not sure of the depth.  Maybe someone else can help there.
 
I've fished it a few times but not enough to learn the lake.

My suggestion would be to follow the crowd.  We always did fairly well toward the east end up in the shallow end.  As you go in that direction you will see and old road bed coming down the hill from the South.  Go another 100 yards and keep toward the South side of the lake about 1/3 to 1/2 distance across the lake from the South shore.
