New guy with a boat purchase question

I have been bow fishing for several years and with different boats. I am wanting to upgrade. My question is, am I better off buying a new tracker 2072 that is already set up for bow fishing rather than building one myself.

    It all depends on how much time and coin you are willing to spend on getting your ride rigged up.
    Personally, I've never seen a "new" boat that was ready to fish right off the showroom floor...there is always something you will want to add, change or modify...which adds to the bottom line cost.
    I'm not trying to sway you from buying a new boat...everyone likes to have a new boat...but did you compare the cost of "new" versus "used but modified" for your specific fishing likes? 
     
    If you have the time and a little skill, you could most likely buy used and modify to your exact requirements for less cost than a new boat.

    Depends on your desire and ability to work on a boat vs straight cost.  If you have $20k laying around by all means buy all the boat you can afford and start fishing.  But you can put together that same boat for 3-5k plus another k buck or so building a platform that fishes exactly how you want.  Drawback is the time and effort for the build.

    Not sure who is the sucker in this deal....but I don't think its the fish

    Why would I want a rig like this? Because it can be used for multiple purpose, I can afford it AND I would LOOK soooo good.

    Buy the boat. you only live once . There is nothing to fix . just enjoy. I did it this year and got out of   the 73 apple that i had . goodluck
