Boat seats

I had a pair of wise boat seats given to me as a birthday present last year and after purchasing a new boat recently I installed them on the pedestal bases and found both tend to recline way too far back. I was wondering if anyone had any tricks to fix this or of just upgrading the attaching hardware would be able to remedy this problem.
