RIP Spoonie.  Condolences to his friends and family.  I was praying he would pull through.  He shared some great fishing tips and great tips on life in general through these discussion boards.  One of the guys that I really enjoyed reading what he had on his mind.  I was able to meet him twice, I wish more.  Maybe 10 years ago, once at Crappy's house another time he was fishing with Stillhead.  Not enough to really know him, more knew his thoughts posted on here.  I passed him one day at Cal's General Store a few years back.  One of those "I know that guy, but not sure exactly who that is".  I said "hi" in passing, hoping it would come to me or he'd recognize me and give a hint...  As soon as I am about a minute down Rt. 19, I realized who it was.  I felt bad about not turning around and going and shooting the breeze for a bit.  Was hoping we'd cross paths again, but never did.  Life is too short.

So sorry to hear, he was a really good (and smart) dude, enjoyed fishing with him, was very generous to tell me to park my boat and join him, genieman, and wormwaster on his boat, truly a nice guy.

Just saw this I haven't been looked at the boards here is quite a few months.
Mike was a very amiable man during the time I knew and worked with him. He was very passionate about two things I remember. The Lake Erie fishery and the Lake Author fishery. If it was not a lake Erie fish it must have been a wiper. He was a long time member and Director on the Pennsylvania Steelhead**** I remember him working on projects and gathering the support of the PAFBC on fishery needs and easement expectations. He will be a hard one to replace.
    Safe travels.
    Chris

Still in shock over this. I made it a point to stop at his work when I could to B.S. I'm glad he got in a trip to Moraine fishing for Stripers with his boss this Spring.Thankful for all the times I got to fish with him and wish there were more.

Spoon was a wonderful guy.  Our opinions differed on a lot of things, but we could always talk when our paths crossed.  He will be missed.
