THE CLARION RIVER 2017 ==

I thought I would post an update on my Clarion River fishing trips this year.
 
I have 9 trips to various spots and these are my total landed fish so far ..
 
1- small Smallmouth
12- trout, Browns, Brooks, and Rainbows
1- large Sucker
1- hellbender
*-countless Creek Chubs
 

 


 

The problems I am having are the conditions on days I go..
 
1.-water temp is still VERY COLD..
 
 
2.-water level is still very high, and current is super swift..
 
3. hard to keep bait close to bottom without snagging as it rapidly bounces along the bottom.
 
4. Adding to that = the trout are only "nibbling" as it bounces by. You have to be super ready and quick.
 
I have missed ten times more than I have hooked...
