Lack of hatches

Anyone else notice a lack of hatches in late May.  I fished Little Mahonning and Buffalo a couple times each over the past few weeks and found very little in the way of any kind of hatch coming off.  Last trip up to Little Mahonning last weekend fished six hours and saw no caddis and only a couple may flies.  Buffalo had nothing coming off which surprised me that creek usually has some caddis coming off at least.  Heading to East Hickory Forest County this weekend hope to catch the last of the Green Drakes if there are any.

A bad day fishing is always better than a good day working.

jinks, I have noticed the same thing on our local lakes this spring, I can only blame it on these crazy weather patterens. Sure hurts the float & fly fishing that I like to use.  sam

Yep, that is the only thing I can figure too.  I talked to a friend a couple of weeks ago and he noticed the same thing on red bank in Jefferson County.  I like a challenge but this is getting frustrating, maybe June will change things.
