Muskie around Beaver County

I'm going to be attempting to chase Muskie this year here and there. Anywhere around Beaver County and surrounding area now a days to have any luck? I remember when I was a kid that Connequenesing was the place to go but haven't heard of anything recently. I have a couple 6'-6'6" medium duty Fenwick spinning rods and a 9'6" heavy Daiwa spinning rod which I know aren't ideal. And I picked up a couple Mepps agilia #5. If I sound clueless it's because I am. Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks.

Go to lake Arthur, cast a giant lure 6,000,000,000 times.  If you get lucky you'll hook one of the 3 or 4 rumored to still swim there.  Seriously though you aren't going to get any help finding musky from the internet.  Musky guys keep secrets like the CIA.

Honestly you really don't need that heavy stuff. Any rivers and lakes where they stock it is a start. Best tip I'll give you is below spillways or locks.

I agree you don't need extra heavy equipment just a decent reel with a good rod. Your med actions will work. Most Muskies are average size mid 30's usually under 20lbs. Even if you tie into a big one just drag play them out longer. We use 6-10 lb. line usually with small leaders . I would have a small variety of choices for Musky....stick baits - Rapalas etc.  , spinning lures - Mepps and I like a few top water choices like Spooks or any" walk the dog" style lures. I favor gold, and silver colors, but Fire Tigers and bright colors work too. Make sure you have a large net with you it will save you and that Musky time.

Go where your percentages are best and timing, season and daylight...... fish smart.

Some food for thought regarding gear for river fishing the big-un's vs lake fishing.

Them fishes (if) hooked, have the river current to thier advantage.

While heavy rod and reel are not needed, chucking exceptionally larger than the average Crappie lure, sometimes many; many; many; times, does require the appropriate gear. In addition, if one wishes to prevent the loss of a big-un or a very pricey, bigger than the average Crappie lure, one need consider the use of a quality leader. Those Musky, especially the big-un's, are known to do a "death roll".

Lastly, especially when fishing from a boat, learn to do the "figure 8" while the lure is along side, 'before' lifting it from the water.

Musky are known to follow those bigger than average fishing lures right up to the boat, only to be watched swim away, after one has just made his 600,000,000 cast.

Give a man a fish and you will feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you will feed him for a life time. ~Anne Isabella Thackeray Ritchie (1837–1919)~

where Brady's run creek enters into the Beaver River in Fallston is where I've caught most of the muskies I've caught here in Beaver County where I live. Very close to where the Beaver spills into the Ohio. It's pretty shallow and wading is the way to go about it. They seem to wait on food there. I've never caught a huge one there but many 30-36" muskies.

Another spot to try is the turbines in New Brighton, there was a huge one hanging out right on top of the water all the way in against the building  about a month ago and I couldn't get it to bite anything in my tackle after it showed some mild interest in a Rapala x-rap 10. On Fallston Wall side I've caught a couple over the years as well. Biggest muskie I've ever caught(53.5) was there but I foul hooked it fishing from the rocks in the middle of the river, casting toward the shore/wall.
