GBG Gander Mountain

Went to the Greensburg Gander Mtn store today. Sign on the door that states due to circumstances beyond their control they will not have live bait til May 2017.

That store is useless. No bait for trout season? No wonder they are in bankruptcy. Guess I'll just buy bait online for now on.

I went to the Johnstown store to buy a trolling motor battery and they didn't have any 2017 batteries in stock.   By the stock they have in the whole store you would think they are closing this store but they said not.  Lots of empty spaces in there.

They have an odd business model.  Old inventory marked up 30% higher than the competition.  That said I got an HDS7 touchscreen for $400 when they were closing Robinson.  They sell for more than that used.

Certain baits on a shortage world wide, especially butterworms. I buy my waxies in bulk, online and have them shipped to my house. Way cheaper.

The Robinson location was a truly awful retail location.

The one in Washington has had all of the fishing gear at 30% for a while now.  Should be going to 40% off soon.

I was in the Johnstown store on Sunday to get some jeans (great for yard work -- cheap, last for years, and plenty of room for the testimonials when bending and stretching). They did not have any in my size (that would be W for walrus).

I asked the manager if they had any others in stock and she told me "no." They had what was out and were on hold for any other merchandise until the bankruptcy cleared or they got bought, which she said may happen because they have had several offers. She declined to say where the offers came from.

She told me to try their website for jeans, which I did, but they only had them for persons of much smaller proportions.

While they did have some things on sale, mostly women's clothes, nothing sporting related -- ammo, kayaks, metal spinner targets, etc. had any discounts at all.

Everything I say can be fully substantiated by my own opinion.
