A lot of water temp talk. What about catching. I start fishing the bay in February with a 34 degree surface temp. Had no trouble catching perch and steelhead. The water temp is in the 40's now and the bay is alive, perch, crappie, gills,LM,SM,northern, steelhead can be had,if you go.

Nope but you can save money on gas when it's a 5hr drive. That's why some of us on here ask for that kinda info. Just saying

Hey, John, temp was 56.4°F in our Marina tonight. I'd imagine the main bay is in the 50-52°F range.

Here ya go, inland lake water temp. buffs.

Yinz can even download a mobile app.

Unfortunately not all inland lakes are listed.

Use the arrows to bring up a map showing which lakes are observed or use the list to search for your lake.

Canceled our trip down thinking it was a little early yet for the good bass bite. Now were trying to get off work for a trip in May. WILLING to share, is the proper wording for these Goofballs on here johnthefisherman. Tight lines to the people that try to help others on here.

So water temp aside, going anytime here in spring for smallmouth is probably well worth the trip then. I fish Raystown lake in south central PA. Can be pretty tough catching a single fish before water temp hits 55 degree.

Had a blast this weekend, smallies are few but it just getting started.  Got some steel as well.  Big white suckers are in with the drum.

Water was perfect today.

Nice fish! Your Drum is actually a Quillback, and that Sucker is a Silver Redhorse, both great catches!
