Glade Run Lake

Anybody here that used to fish Glade Run in southern Butler Co?

It's finally filled back up with water over the new spillway.  Supposed to get trout for the first day and one in season stocking.  Trout fishing from shore will probably be a challenge - all the trees and shrubs were left in the lake, with many tree tops still visible.  Those who like to chuck bait out on the bottom will find it pretty frustrating for a few years I'd think, until all that stuff decays.  Should be of great benefit though to re-establishing panfish, bass and catfish in there.  Lots of man made structure added to the lake as well to enhance spawning for these species.

If you're on Facebook, check out Save Glade Run Lake - lots of great photos and drone footage.

Should be a pretty nice fishin' hole in a few years.

Fished there years ago when I was younger but haven't really been back since.  I actually moved into that area a couple years ago and was pleased to find out they were rebuilding the lake.  Lots of cool drone footage showing all the lake and where all the new structure is.  Would love to see this happen to hereford manor next LOL

I didn't fish there much the last few years it was open but was always nice to have something so close. All that habitat work and structure that they left should make it a great warm water lake in a few years.

The Glade Run Conservancy was a grass roots effort that really did a lot of work to get the dam restored there. Commissioner Ali was pretty instrumental as well. Never fished Hereford but hopefully it can be a success story too.
