7 weight

Was wondering if a 10 foot 7 weight would hold up for salmon

    all about how you play the fish i guess.... most guys i know use heavier...

    Can be done, just not a smart idea. Attached is a pic of a busted 10' 7wt, from a steelie.  Break was my fault for trying to horse the fish, was crowded.

    Keep your hand on the cork and it will work,I used a 6wt for salmon and it worked.Now I use a 8wt which is n't much heavier than a 7wt.

    I use a 6 for steelhead and never have a problem I Gota 7 weight just hate buying a 8 weight only to use couple times a year

    Hand never left the cork, problem was drag was too tight and I leaned the rod too far back at the same time fish decided to run.....Orvis..
